I985 UHaul CT13 FOR SALE. Rare and collectable. UHaul built less than 2000 of these trailers before they were decided to be too much hassle for the local dealers, who had to constantly be cleaning them up for the next renters, and were withdrawn from UHaul ownership and sold off to the general public.
I purchased this several years ago with the intent to use it during the winter months. After only a few trips, I decided that I did not like the idea of pulling a trailer on snow- and ice-covered roads. When I did winter camp, I had access to 120VAC shore power, and the original furnace was able to keep the interior temperature close to 60, when outside temperature was in the 20s, as long as the wind was not blowing.
I am the third owner after this was released from UHaul. I was told that the first owner “knew” someone who was a bigshot at UHaul. This bigshot kept his eyes open for a CT which was still in reasonably good shape, for his buddy to purchase. This first private owner installed a roof mounted air conditioner (including roof to floor reinforcement post), a dorm style 120VAC refrigerator, an instant hot water heater (currently not attached to trailer electric system), replaced most inside lights with LED, and also replaced elevator bolts, between frame and floor
All windows open and close, none of them leak. Keyed door lock works properly. Floor is solid, and has no known rot, or weak areas. It has the original furnace, and 2 burner cook stove. Original fresh water tank, and pump (pump is not currently attached to electric supply). Has original table and bunkbeds. I believe the seat cushions are original and are in good condition. None are missing. There is no damage to fiberglass shell. The tires are approximately 18 years old but have little tread wear.
I have replaced the original power supply with a Progressive Dynamics ‘smart charger’. There are both 120VAC circuits and 12VDC circuits inside. All external lights work properly, all wires from plug to each fixture have been replaced with new wire. I also added an aftermarket LED taillights and brake/turn signal lights, for added visibility.
A fabric cover, which fits over the entire trailer is included.
Weighs 1400 pounds. Easy to pull with smaller vehicle
