SOLD 1985 U-Haul CT-13 camper trailer - $12,700 - Boulder, CO

1985 U-Haul CT-13 camper trailer.

There were fewer than 2,500 of these U-Haul campers ever made so they are collectable and actually appreciate in value! Since they are fiberglass, they last longer and resist water damage, unlike multi-panel trailers.

We love it, but are moving and will have no place to store it. In the 6-years we owned this trailer, we took it out less than 10 times. I certainly spent more time working on it than camping in it, and that’s OK. It’s a labor of love, and I enjoyed it. Now it can be yours and it’s ready to load and go! Clean title in hand.

Upgrades:

  • New LED lighting, interior and exterior.
    • Tail lights are original and still work. Some of the small running lights might be out.
  • New 125 W solar system with Renogy controller
  • Brand New deep cycle battery, 109 amp hours
  • Charge controller, wiring. Trailer can run on shore power. Battery charges when connected to AC.
  • New 3-way Norcold refrigerator. Runs well on Propane, or AC. I would not recommend using DC as the solar and battery is just not enough.
  • New roof vent fan; it moves a ton of air! It works so well that we don’t often miss AC.
  • 12v water pump with electric switch (replaces original hand pump)
  • All new cushions and custom, professionally-sewn covers.
  • New curtains and matching throw pillows
  • 40 Lb propane tank
  • Lagun mount with butcher-block table-top; removable and almost infinitely adjustable positioning
  • Tires were replaced about 2 years ago and have been driven less than 500 miles.

Other features:

  • 15-gallon water tank: no black or grey tank to deal with.
  • Hitch lock
  • 1200-pound dry weight
  • Optional bunk-bed included; this can be installed for 2 small children. Sleeps 3 adults.
  • Full-size spare wheel and tire
  • 2-burner stovetop works well

It doesn’t have bathroom or shower, hot water, or an air conditioner. Two of the windows have very small leaks when it rains extremely hard. They would benefit from being removed and put back with new seals. This would also be a good time to apply new gel-coat. I wanted to do this myself, but never got around to it. It’s perfectly fine to use it as is, but this would make it “perfect”.

The heater does not automatically kick on during the night, even though there is a basic thermostat. The floor, frame, and elevator bolts are original. Feels solid, no soft spots in the floor.
