1985 Scamp 16 foot Camper for Sale. Layout 4. Located in NE Iowa. Asking $8,300.

We are selling our Scamp. We have owned it for about two years and only had it out once, shortly after we purchased it in June 2019. 1985 Layout 4 (front bunks/couch – side bath). Located in Wadena, Iowa 52169 (northeast Iowa). We kind of have a history of purchasing things and not using them. Don’t even ask about the pontoon boat! 

This camper is pretty much original. Has cold working AC with heat strip and a three way fridge which we’ve only used on electric. Two propane tanks with cover and battery with box. Solar panel on the roof that is supposed to charge the battery but we did not verify this. There are no known leaks or soft spots in the floor. Clear Iowa title.

It looks like the plumbing – kitchen and bath – may not be connected. Does still have the fresh water tank. We have not used or tested any of the plumbing. Most of the lights seem to work. Never tried the stove. Has the furnace but we have not used it. Has a water heater also but not used. I do have the original curtains and rods. And of course it has the Scamp trademark door gap!

Prior owner installed a new axel with trailer brakes. Tires are Towmaster SS Trailer Radial ST175/80R/13. Load range C. DOT date on the tires is 3316 = the week of August 15, 2016 so coming up on five years old. Some people replace at five years – some go seven or more.

There are projects but this 36 year old camper is towable and usable as is. I had dreams of making it all cute like all the posts I’ve been following but life changes got in the way and that is not going to happen. Asking price is $8,300.
