SOLD - 1984 Scamp 13’ Standard (front bunk-no shower/bath) - $10,500 - Union Grove, Wisconsin

This is a 1984 scamp, 13 foot layout with the rear dinette and front bunk arrangement. This is a lightweight and simple model which only has an icebox, gas furnace, and gas stove top. It does have a 12V Maxxair fan that was installed by a previous owner although the installation was not ideally executed— but it doesn’t leak.

This camper was just used on a 6300 mile family trip with zero issues.

There is not an inverter/converter setup on this trailer. This can be plugged into any standard 15 or 20 amp residential wall outlet for powering the 110/120 lighting. Additionally, with the current trailer wiring, being only a four prong electrical connection, there is not a provision for battery charging when connected to a tow vehicle or to shore power. This can be easily rectified with a six or seven pin electrical connector or installation of a 12V charging system to keep the deep cell battery charged. Another option would be to install one of the Renogy 100w solar charging systems.

As far as the physical condition of the trailer, it’s got the original 1- 7/8” ball hitch connector with new breakaway chains and tongue jack. The tongue and rear bumper had surface rust that was stripped before being primed and painted. Also before the trip brand new Carlisle 185R13 trailer tires were installed as the original steel wheels have been sandblasted and epoxy painted bright white. Brand new chrome hubcaps were also installed. A brand new 2200 pound rated torsion axle was also welded on just before the trip and for anyone wondering —this trailer does not have electric brakes. The axle has provisions for backing plates and brakes if someone desire to install them later.

There are no leaks and all the rivets/snap caps were replaced before our trip. The original wood floors are all intact with no water damage. We have not used the water system, but I will check them before a sale. All the exterior trailer lights work. The body has never been painted or treated with any other special cleaners or waxes, and shows typical age for gelcoat on these trailers. There is some rust staining from previously rusted fasteners as seen in the photos.

There is fiberglass damage above the curbside tire, but below the fiberglass wheel well, that was caused by a previous owner, backing into it with his lawnmower. The same type of damage is at the left front corner as seen in the photos. No water can get into the trailer from the right side and none has been seen at the left front either. We spent quite a few nights in the rain, and also towing through some great storms over the past few weeks and each stop yielded a dry trailer. There is some spider cracks in the gelcoat and staining, which is typical of Scamp trailers especially one that’s 39 years old.

Before selling I am installing a new front windshield due to a crack and age scuffing along with new seals for the front and back window. New weatherstripping on the exterior of the Hehr windows will also be installed due to old rubber shrinkage. The yellowed trim tape on the original ensolite will also be replaced before a sale. These were all items that just didn’t get completed before our trip.

The original upholstery and carpet is all intact. The PVC bunk attachment pieces in the front will not be included with the sale.

The trailer has a clear Michigan title ready for transfer to the new owner. Payment accepted is cash or wire transfer or cashiers check or personal check however, release of the trailer will only happen once the funds clear.
