If you already have a regular

If you already have a regular Reese 16k Fifth wheel hitch installed in your truck bed, this Scamp hitch will just pin onto your old rails. Saves you installation that is not needed. I have a 2013 Scamp fiver that was ordered raised up for new taller truck beds. I had a regular Reese 16k 5th wheel hitch already in the bed of my 2004 Ram 2500 diesel long bed. I doubted they would match but before I made any effort to measure or get ready for a complete change, I decided to try putting the Scamp hitch on my old fiver hitch rails that are installed on the frame perfectly. OMG! It fit, just pinned on. In the picture below you can see that the rails are much older than the Scamp hitch.

My Scamp rides level with plenty of clearance all around the bed. And although looking at my big long bed truck I would have sworn it would not work, especially with my much longer looking rear bumper and taller looking tailgate, it not only had four or so inches of level clearance around the truck bed top and tailgate, but I had my wife watch and went very slowly the first time I had them hitched and it also jackknife to more than 90° without hitting the Scamp front battery and propane frame shelf. I am amazed. The Scamp Reese hitch is also a 16k rating. Who'd a thunk?

Posting pics and editing a post.

I used a picture linker and it does not show here in my above link. How do I add pictures to a post? I had some typos and misspells and could not go back to edit my post? What is up? The last time I was here I had not used the forum for a long time and was treated as a newbie and had to post and get the admins involved. Is that what is happening again?

Info

You seem to have confused us with FiberglassRV ( the forum).  They do have limitations on what can be posted if you are a new account. We are a completely different website and have never had restrictions on posting when a person joins here.

As for editing - when logged in to your account there is an “edit” button visible directly under your post that you can click and make your desired changes.

Your link to your photo is visible in your post and works just fine.

All that being said, we are not a discussion forum here. This site just has For Sale ads and the comments are for buyers interested in purchasing the listed item. Your information about alternate rails for installation is valuable and informative and we highly recommend you post it in a general discussion forum like FiberglassRV where it can be seen by others and discussed.

OOps!

OOps!

Thanks. I am logged in. There is no edit button under any of my posts. I will have a Scamp for sale so thanks for the help.

However, I still would like to be able to edit my posts. I would edit these.
