SOLD - Hunter Compact II, 1974 - $4200 - McComb, MS

UPDATE June 23, 2020 TRAILER HAS BEEN SOLD.  Thank you fiberglass-rv-4sale!

For sale is this clean 1974 Hunter Compact II fiberglass trailer. While the specs online say that these weigh about 1100 pounds, the information plate on the outside of the trailer says:

Date: 5 73 May 1973
GVWR: 1570
GAWR front: 1500
Serial C1393
Original dealer sticker: Roy's Cars and Trailers, Ogden, Utah.

The title and registration say that it is a 1974 model. It belonged to my late mother, who towed her pride and joy with her 4 cyl Chrysler PT Cruiser on many camping trips. We aren't able to take the time to go camping, so we are looking for a home for it.

All original interior and exterior. The only exceptions are the air conditioner that requires hookup, some glue spots on the kitchen walls where hooks came off over time, the paper towel holder, and metal plates installed to hold curtain rods. Original equipment includes sink with handpump faucet, 3 burner stove that works well, ice box that needs drain tube replaced [NOTE: not a fridge, but the right size to install one], clean water tank, also it must have a grey water tank, but I have not found it yet, propane furnace/heater which my mother said worked. All cabinets and drawers are original and work and include a pantry, a closet, and multiple drawers and hatches, plus storage under the seat cushions. Seat cushions convert to a bed, as per normal. All windows work, screens are in good condition. NO LEAKS. The quilted naugahyde ceiling and walls are in perfect condition, the original linoleum floor is in very good condition, the cushions are in very good condition, the foam is still springy. I would say the fabric is starting to feel a little brittle, but lots of wear left in them, no tears or open seams and the foam is still comfy. [UPDATE: One long cushion has a seam coming apart on the backside]. Original wallpaper in the closet/potty room very clean. No potty included, my mother used a bucket toilet.

POP TOP: There is one 2" hole in the vinyl that could be patched, but other than that, all of the material is there and functioning including zippers and screens. The clear vinyl is somewhat yellowed and one would need to be careful with the material, but it is not cracking apart, it is still functional. Absolutely no leaks when pop top is in closed position.[Sorry, no photos of it open.]

There are 2 spots where the exterior fiberglass got dinged, very much on the surface, no water leakage at all. There is a rock pockmark in one window, and the frame of that window has a little bent piece, will bend back. Potable water intake is missing the cap. External vent in kitchen needs replacing. There is some surface rust on the frame. Any rust is very light, only the surface, the frame is in excellent condition for its age. Tires are good, spare tire is good. Has propane bottle. One interior light doesn't work, may just need bulb [turns out this is probably a 12V light]. The floor is solid.

One exterior running light cover is missing, there is a replacement in a drawer inside. The door is tweaked, it got sprung open in a wind storm, cracked a window, and it doesn't seal completely [please see this link that shows a smart repair method: https://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f56/karins-campster-renovation-74938.... My mother used window sticky foam strips to close the opening. We have kept a fan running in the trailer the whole time it's been here, so it DOES NOT smell musty and there is no mold.

Comes with the original owner's manual. My mother made curtains for it, and it also comes with some vintage kitchen ware a set of matching dishes with some silverware, a metal drip coffee pot, and a kettle for boiling water.
