SOLD - 2006 17ft Casita Freedom Deluxe - $17,000 - Tavares, FL

I bought this camper approximately three - four years ago. I saw it come up on craigslist In North Carolina. I’m retired and I live In Wisconsin half the year, the other half a year in Florida. At the time I was in Florida. I had to drive up to North Carolina to pick it up. Actually, I bought without even seeing it. The story behind it is the man that owned it originally, was a pilot. He kept it in his airplane hanger. The guy I bought it off of never used it. Had health issues, so he was selling it. Like I said, when I bought it it was site unseen. I said to myself, boy am I gonna get stuck with this thing. I get up there and the inside still smelled new. I think the guy slept in a few times in his hanger. I get back down to Florida and go over it. I put new bearings in it, Which it has dexter axles. I also cleaned up the brakes on it. New tires. I have also put new window shades and screens on the outside. One screen had a little tear in it, so I just replaced them all. As you can see the rear lights are all LED lights. I don’t believe the showers ever been used. I never used it. Toilet yes, shower no. I’ve never used the burner, I don’t think he ever used the burner. I do have the LP tanks, but they don’t get used. I have electrical appliances, which work well for me. The older I get, the simpler I want things to be. The Awning was getting a little bit old, so I wanted to put a new awning on it. The awnings are expensive, they’re actually made in Italy. Come to find out, there’s only one place to get the original awning for that particular camper and that is Orlando Florida, which I’m only an hour away from, so it has a new original awning. I also have a full cover for it and a half cover. I believe I have the information from both previous owners and you’re welcome to contact them on any further information. As you can see I took one of the chairs out ( I still have it). I use that area for my little dog and put her bed on it. And that’s the reason why I’m getting rid of it. My dog has passed away. I can’t go in that camper with thinking of her. The table in the back I’ve never had up. I’ve always used it for a bed. I forgot... I did put a new floor in it. It comes with carpeting and I didn’t like it, so a new floor went in. I believe the new ones have a hard floor now. If you’re interested give me a call we can chat and I’ll probably think of something else that I’ve done to it, but offhand that pretty much sums it up. They are great little campers. If you don’t buy this one, buy one, you’ll never regret it. You have no idea how many people at campgrounds come up and talk to you about it. The price, is the price. I was going to buy a new one, but at the time I was looking it would take over a year to get it. At 68 years old, a year is a long time.
