SOLD - 1990 13ft Scamp Camper - $6,000 - Hillsborough, NC

Super little fiberglass, light weight walk-in, pull behind camper, mini rv that can sleep 4 adults UNDER 6FT comfortably or 2 adults and 2 children. (This was the last year of the shorter Scamps; they build them taller now.) This is layout number one, the "front bunks" model. Dining table pops down to make a double bed. Two bunk beds are at the other end and also fold down to become just a long sofa, so great for a couple, too, with an extra seating area. No bathroom, but I have a nice water-flushable porta-potty to go with the camper if you'd like (never used). Kitchenette includes 2 gas burners, mini fridge, sink and cabinets. There is a small clothes closet and storage under the dining seats and the rear bunks/bench.

It needs handyman level repairs and replacements, but a decent amount of them. Interior is in pretty good shape.

-Roof vent needs a new lid. Old one is cracked and brittle... holding together currently with FlexiSeal.
-There is no paint on the camper anymore. What you are seeing is the fiberglass shell. Needs a complete paint job - pick a fun color or stay classic... they still make the decals. Still sheds water just fine, just not attractive!
-Plumbing under sink needs reconnecting.
-The rivet covers all need replacing... available at the Scamp company.
-Water damage to one cabinet door inside when rain blew in the cracked roof vent. Still functional though.
-Fresh water tank needs cleaning and an exterior fill cover... available from the Scamp company.
-Various external metal appendages need surface rust removed and spray painting... or, all are available new from the company, if you just want to replace them.
-Undercarriage has a few holes and should probably be resealed/waterproofed.
-2 tiny shallow fiberglass chips off exterior top edge, neither leaking, one less than a dime size and one about pea-sized. Small fiberglass repair kits are available at Lowes and Home Depot, and probably at auto and marine stores.
-Significant surface rust on undercarriage frame and tongue of camper... I don't think it's anything serious.
-No battery currently. You must supply this.
-Door window glass is cracked on the lower pane. Entire window is replaceable via a new part from the Scamp company.

Some improvements were already made... upholstery replaced a few years ago. New sink faucet bought, but never installed. New cabinet hinges and knobs. Gas tank rack welded on. New LED bulbs in all the lights. Big truck reflectors were added to the rear above the electric lights. And the biggie is that I just replaced the axle, wheels and tires with Scamp factory replacements - NOT because it was in an accident or rusted through, but because no one makes the 4 bolt wheel and tire replacements in that size anymore. Ugh. Total cost was +/- 1K to buy and ship the heavy factory parts and then 4 hrs of cutting off and welding on the new axle by a trusted mechanic. So, the axle is now upgraded weight-wise.

THEY STILL MAKE SCAMPS IN THE US AND ALL REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE at Scamptrailers.com. The internet site is great and the customer service is fantastic.

Everything gas and electric was working last time it was used. I plugged the camper in to my house electric and the light over the sink and the interior multi-outlet work. Plumbing at the sink was disconnected to repair, but never finished and put back together. 3-way power possible, gas, electric and battery - for running the Dometic fridge and some other things.

I have some significant things that will come with the camper... 2 extra jack stabilizers, a modern 7 way round electric adapter to tow vehicle for camper running lights, the hitch lock, the baby moon wheel covers, the correct hitch mount and a pin, a new 5 bolt mount for new spare tire in the future, a campground(or house) electric adapter, and small wheel chucks. There may be something else that I'm forgetting.

Also, lots of optional extras can come with this camper, IF they are wanted. They can be added on to the purchase price after the camper negotiation. I have all the linens, never used small appliances, dishes for 4, stainless silverware, never used flushable porta-potty, etc. I will sell them to you pretty cheaply.

These campers normally start at $21,000 and can be towed by a strong 6 cylinder. They are relatively light. Look at the company site for the specs.

3rd NC owner, and title is in hand.

Asking 6K Or Best Offer. I do need to sell it for space reasons. I will hold on to any back up offers in advance, and contact you if I cannot get my asking price.

Great project for do-it-youselfers or for a parent and child. Come take a look and make me an offer!

TRANSACTION MUST TAKE PLACE AT MY BANK IN HILLSBOROUGH, NC on a weekday... I will receive money and sign title over that will be notarized there. I will then sign a pre-printed bill of sale for you and hand the keys to the hitch lock and door over to you to go back and get the camper - 10 min back through town. No delivery available... you must have your own tow vehicle. Serious inquiries only. Thanks.
