The kids are getting bigger and so we have decided to sell our 86 Scamp 16' for a bigger camper. I know we are going to miss this camper because it has been a joy to own. We have had it a little over 2 years and have taken it to Texas earlier this year for our farthest trip. It has served us well. We do have the title in hand and it is ready to be camped in. We just got back from a trip this past week.
This camper has bunks, a shower/toilet, A/C, hot water heater, black, grey and clean water tanks, 2" hitch, stabilizer jacks out back, brand new tires with around 200 miles on them, DVD/radio, new faucets, and new roof vent/escape hatch last year. No leaks and like all scamps, it pulls great. It is not perfect so keep in mind it is an 86 model. I have a new screen door from Scamp as well as the front window sheild, both new and not installed yet. I also have a stainless steel hinge rebuild kit for the door that I have not installed yet. Everything works fine except for the gas heater needs checked out. It did not have a thermostat on it when we bought the camper, which I have a new one but we have used a small electric heater and have not check into the propane heater. Also, the toilet valve leak and if we were to keep it, I would just rebuild the entire toilet with new seals. Some lights have been updated with LED lights, which are much brighter and more efficient.
The bunks were purchased after we had the camper, so the fabric does not match. We just replaced both tires this last trip becuase of a bulge on one of the old tires, so they are both new. Has bearing buddies that were new when we purchased the camper. A lot of little things have been addressed, but with any old camper there will be things needed down the road. For now, it is ready to go camping.
