SOLD - 1980 13' Acorn trailer - $6300 - Erie, CO

1980 Vintage 13’ Acorn Scamp trailer for sale. Clean CO title. $6300. Located in Eire. Hard to let this one go...

This is a rare “Acorn” model (made during a 6-month period in 1979-1980, when Scamp was having a naming dispute), giving this Scamp a little extra uniqueness. Similar fiberglass style like Casita, Burro, Trillium, Bigfoot, U-haul, etc.

Inside is nicely restored by the family I bought it from. Includes brand NEW:

Pump sink faucet
Water line tubing
Plank vinyl flooring
Interior paint
Curtains
Scamp factory cushions
Pretty cabinet door knobs
Main Door handle/lock, inside and out
Wood table (heavy duty)
Full outer cover
Exterior electrical wiring and tail lights
Wheel bearings

They also did a fresh seal on all walls, windows, and rivets. Also includes the original custom guard rail for the top bunk bed. Does come with a 20 lbs propane tank and kitchen stove*but* the previous owners said the gas line from the stove to the tank needs to be repaired or replaced. I never used it. Axel in great shape. Tires and spare have lots of tread. This Scamp weighs around 900 lbs. Water tank is about 10-12 gallons, with a standard hand pump sink.

The outside fiberglass is in great shape, no leaks at all. The gel coat has a few cosmetic flaws, “spiderweb” lines. Most have been sealed with a paint primer and are unnoticeable except up close. It looks good to me from the outside, but you could always give it a new gel coat paint job if you want that shiny “wet” fiberglass look.

This Scamp is very basic, no refrigerator, no furnace, no bathroom, no batteries. You can plug into shore power (or add a battery, or solar). And the old refrigerator works as a cooler. But it’s very lightweight and low profile, perfect for minimalist/off-grid camping, easy towing, and access to small spaces. And it’s got a ton of charm, both inside and out. All the windows are in good working order.

I’m including a Buddy heater for some heat (must have some ventilation though). I’ve only owned this Scamp for a few months, and only got to camp in it one time. I was planning to try the “off-grid/RV nomad” lifestyle, and this trailer was going to be my home on wheels. (I think I watched too many YouTube videos of people doing it!) But my journey has been delayed indefinitely. So if someone else is ready to go Scamping, this one is ready for you. Oh and I’ve got a hitch ball that fits it, and a trailer hitch lock. Its got a 4-way trailer lights connector, not a 7-way. Email me to set up a showing, or if you have any questions (and we can exchange numbers then too). I prefer cash payment. It's located in Erie and I can meet you somewhere close to I-25 and HWY 7. Happy Scamping!
