SOLD - 1978 13' Boler trailer - $8500 - Maple Ridge, BC, Canada

Rosie the Boler is looking for a new home; our family has outgrown our sweet glamper.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE RESPONDING

Here what this sassy girl comes with:

  • Sleeps 4 (2 on the bunks, and 2 on the dinette bed)
  • custom built cabinetry, featuring a book matched inlay panel on the closet
  • custom made cushions throughout
  • custom made curtains (backed with blackout blind material)
  • custom made rail for top bunk (to keep kids from rolling off)
  • custom made waterproof vintage -looking yellow canopy
  • custom made fitted sheets for each bed (neatly packed in 2 drawstring bags)
  • 4 throw pillows with removable covers for easy cleaning

Here's what she doesn't have:

  • -a fridge (we opted for a built in ice box instead so we could store more food)
  • -a stove (we always cooked outside so she didn't get smokey or greasy)
  • -a furnace
  • -a sink
  • -electrical outlets

If you are looking for a hook-up type trailer-this one is not for you. If you are looking for a beautiful, comfortable, safe and dry place to sleep while you camp in the great outdoors... read on:

The entire interior was painstakingly rebuilt, stripped to the bare walls, every piece of fabric, wood or piece of hardware was chosen and installed new to create a whole 1950's dinner look. Every peace was made custom to fit by a professional woodworker. Even the insulation on the walls, a common problem with older Bolers, was custom cut and installed new. The exterior was painstakingly prepped by labouriosly stripping decades of old paint, and the entire surface was detailed and restored for the fresh new paint. Every imperfection, even minor, was meticulously repaired with professional fiberglass patches, fillers and two part glaze to ensure a paintjob that will last many more decades.

Boler trailers are quickly increasing in value, as more and more, people are turning to lighter more managable trailers . Bolers weigh just over one thousand pounds, which is light enough to lift and pull by hand but inside are large enough to sleep four people. This makes trailering much easier, as hitching and turning these light trailers around a yard or site can be done, not by having to drive it into place but by simply lifting and moving by hand. This allows them to fit in much smaller places when stored and smaller sites when used. It also means that much smaller cars are able to pull them. These Bolers are even lighter than many tent trailers, but avoid the hassel of tent trailers. There is no torn or leaking canvas like a tent trailer and everything is ready for you when you arrive at the site.

Boler trailers are a part of Canadian history. In total, there were approximately only 10000 Bolers made. This iconic classic is an eye catcher, everywhere it goes and it is only growing in popularity. The timelessness of these trailers is the classic style and aesthetic and the quality of craftsmanship. Properly cared for, fiberglass doesn't rot, like so many other trailers. It is perfectly waterproof which is why boats are all made from the same fiberglass process. Even the classic egg shape, which makes restoration much more difficult, retains an immediate and recognizable style all its own, and only found in a Boler.
