SOLD - 1985 13' U-Haul Camper Travel Trailer - Waterford, WI - on Ebay ends July 8

Editor's Note: Sold for $4,550
This beautiful little piece of vintage
The U Haul Camper Travel Trailer was designed as a fiberglass shell within a shell. Its double walled construction gives it great insulation. The interior is a gel-coated fiberglass shell that does not absorb odors, and can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The tires are in good condition with some sidewall cracking. The camper can sleep 3 – 4 and weighs only about 1000 lbs. It is so light, in fact, that you can push it around on its tongue wheel and hitching up is a breeze. It pulls very easily with no sway when properly loaded. If you want elegant simplicity and a fuel conserving camper that can be pulled by even a 4 cylinder vehicle, this is the camper for you. It is spotlessly clean inside, with new carpeting, new window curtains and a new one piece custom-made double bed mattress in the rear. The rear of the camper could serve as a dinette that will seat 5 people. (A picture of the table is included, but the pedestal is missing. A 3 foot length of plastic pipe about 2 inches in diameter is all that is necessary.) We preferred to have the back sleeping area set up all the time and did not use the dinette table. It has a bench seat across the width of the camper in the front end that could easily serve as a bed. While we do not have the parts, it is possible to add an upper bunk bed in the front. (The camper is designed to support on upper bunk bed.) It also has lots of storage space, and 6’ 2” of headroom.
There is a large roof mounted Coleman air conditioner. It is out of the way and works great.
If you are looking for an all-original collectible, this is not the one because it has been modified. The previous owner was not comfortable with the propane appliances and furnace that were 20 years old. So he removed the furnace, two burner stove and propane tank. The bracket, which secures the propane tank on the tongue is included. The camper still has the original galley sink, but the hand powered water pump to service the sink and the water tank were removed. A new one piece counter top was just installed recently. This counter top covers the sink, but the counter top could easily be modified to make the sink usable. The vintage wallpaper over the counter is new. The hood and vent fan over what was the stove area was removed as it was rusty and not used. There is a 110 volt dorm size refrigerator under the counter. It is in good working condition.
The electrical system has been modified and upgraded to support the roof mounted air conditioner. A converter is incorporated to supply 12 volt power to interior lights. The camper is equipped with several interior and exterior 110 volt outlets for convenient use when hooked up to shore power. While the camper was designed to include a 12 volt battery, the battery has been removed.
The camper also has an awning, which attaches to the camper by an awning track. (see photos) There are three side panels (combination screen and solid panel). Condition of the awning and side panels is good to fair. Pull down awnings have been added to rear and left side window. (as shown in photo)
The camper has a 2” ball hitch, 4-prong plug, and 4 leveling jacks. A spare tire is included.
Parts manuals and other information about the camper are included in the sale.
The camper has a clear
