SOLD - 1985 13' U-Haul Camper - Attleboro, MA - on Ebay ends May 23

Editor's Note: Sold for $2,000
1985 classic former U-Haul rental camper in usable condition. NO RESERVE and low starting bid! Uhaul sold these off in 1992, and we have owned it since 1999, and we have used it one or two weekends per year locally (usually towed 50 miles each way). Weighs only 1000 pounds, and can be towed by 4 or small 6 cylinder. Total length is 13', with the non-hitch portion being 10'. My 2 kids are now older teenagers and we have outgrown it. Sleeps 4 (two adults in the 45" x 75" bed made over the dinette, and two children in the bunk beds (best for children aged 4-15). Or great for couple or single/hunter. This camper is rather small (people were smaller 25 years ago), but accomodates 6 foot tall adults fine. We generally used it for sleeping only at the campsite, or protection when it rained - i.e. most time is spent outside when camping.
All original cushions are included, and they are in good condition. Trailer tows well and has no frame rust (perhaps a little surface rust on the frame). No undercarriage damage that I can see. All glass is good. Includes porto-potti (aftermarket, and unrelated to UHaul). Also includes spare tire - a donut spare form an early 80's GM rear wheel drive vehicle - I bought this tire since I wanted a spare. Ice box (the old kind, where you add ice). Has small sink with on-board tank for clean water, or use city water hookup (camper never had a gray water storage tank). When hooked to 110 VAC outlet, has 2 interior lights that work, plus fan over stove. I added an after market screen door, which allows for better cooling in August. To facilitate the scren door frame mounting, I converted the couch into the bunk beds, and fastened the door frame to the upper bunk. This can be undone easy enough, if you want to have a couch again, but I wanted the bunks secure (no chance the top bunk will drop when occuped) and I wanted the screen door to be solidly mounted, which it is. I added a safety rail (removable without tools) for the top bunk, to prevent child from rolling off during sleep. It has a box under the rear seating area for a 12V battery, though I never put one in. Has a solar panel on the roof that looks good and is still wired in, but I never tested it. Stove was used once by me, but is rusty on surface and has not been used in 10 years. Unsure if furnace worked (never used it). Rear bumper has no dents and is heavy duty - and under it are two built-in metal adjustable stands that you use to level and stabalize the camper once you get it on site.
Now for the disclosures: Needs new tires - the current tires hold air and have a little tread left, but have some dry rot and need replacing soon. One of the side windows, that doubles as a fire escape, appears to leak a little rain in around the gasket (a new gasket would do it wonders). One of the plywood lids (under the cushions) needs replacing due to some water damage (the cushions never got wet). The rear screen is missing, so while the rear window slides open sideways, we do not open it since flys would get in. All other screens are fine. Some (maybe half) of the external towing lights work - maybe new bulbs would help, but could use some re-wiring. Look at pictures closely for some old minor fiberglass damage (rear) that was fixed before I bought it. There are a couple large cracks over the side window on the door side - previous owner widened the cracks and planned to patch with fiberglass but never did (see photo of cracks). The cracks do not go thru to the inside where the occupants are - since the camper's fiberglass shell is "double layered" with a small air gap inbetween - i.e. the result of the cracks is not water inside. The propane tank is the original dated 1985, and thus can no longer be filled since it is the old style. There is a key for the door lock, though the lock does not always work (the door does latch securely for travel and is weather tight; but just doesn't lock). No carpet included (add your own). Lastly, there is a crank-up jack on the front with a plastic wheel - it still works but shows its age and should be replaced.
