SOLD - 1981 12' Burro Travel Trailer - $3,200 - Dunedin, FL
Folks what we have here is refurbished 81 Burro that is secured to 2006 Emerson Utility Trailer with a 3500lb axle and 14 inch rims ( Tire Size 205/75/14 ) . Initially the tounge on the Burro had become compromised and slightly bent, so since I already had the Utility Trailer ... I Re- mounted the Burro less the torsion axle and removed the tounge, and rear bumper . It is all properly bolted down and I also ran a safety cable through the inside of the trailer and bolted it to the frame of the utility trailer . The total weight of the camper is 1660lbs making it possible to be towed by most any vechicle ( Within Reason... Don't Show up with a Smart Car ) But clearly two good sized Jet Ski's and a trailer will weigh in around the same. A friend of mine easily pulled it with his 4 cylinder Pick Up for instance . I have replaced all the cabinet doors , and storage areas ( Under the cushions ) With Urethaned plywood.. very rustic !
I also replaced the fridge with New a 2.7 cubic ft capacity fridge. I replaced all the carpet with a really nice Berber. It has a two burner stove which works very well . Above and beyond all that it has a totally functioning Air Conditioning Unit that makes possible to camp right through the hottest months of the summer... I know because we go to Daytona for the races. The beauty of the fiberglass construction is that it is doubled walled and does not sweat like conventional rolled aluminum with a paneled inside to give way to mold and mildew. It will sleep three comfortably ( A fourth on the floor if need be ) I also installed a 2'' Reese Hitch on back of the utility trailer and am including a Graber Bike Rack so that you can carry at least two bikes.... you could actually hook up your Jet Ski ( Just a Thought !!) To give you an idea I am Six Two and can stand straight up inside the majority of the trailer and can sleep across the width front or rear of the trailer. There is also a spare tire. In one week of vacationing and not having to pay motel or hotel prices, being able to bring our own provisions I estimate that we saved north of $ 600.00 bucks. Very Cool ! I looked into the the Teardrop Campers what a Joke for $8500-15,500 ... I cant stand in them, and unless you spend all the money you won't have A/C!!
