SOLD - 1974 Fiberglass Hunter Compact II Travel Trailer - $5,999 - Riverside, CA
Mon, 06/28/2010 - 10:18am
Vintage 1974 Hunter brand, compact II (2) travel trailer manufactured in Chatsworth California, 13' over all length with a 10? box (living area) when measured in the beltline (center). Trailer has unusual rear door entry and cabinets that line both sides for ample storage (the closet in the right rear corner we have set up for a bathroom it even has a light). Trailer has a pop top similar to a tent trailer to provide more headroom and ventilation. This trailer has been completely disassembled and restored. There is no mold or dry rot in this trailer. This trailer is very practical and has everything needed for camping comfort. I tried my hardest to make this trailer feel better then new so it has a new feel with great vintage looks.
EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REPLACED OR REFURBISHED PLEASE READ!
Here is the good:
The trailer is currently registered in California to me and I have the pink slip
Weighs less then 1200 pounds. I can tow it with my compact pickup easily!!!
The trailer sleeps 2 comfortable, perfect for couples
The interior is nice and includes:
All wood cabinetry was replaced with real wood and wood veneer (the only original part is the framing the stove sits on but even that has been reinforced and modified for the better; every inch of the inside of this trailer has been taken apart replaced or refurbished
Wood has been completely sprayed in New amber Shellac Stain for a rich golden color and superior shine
New upholstery on dinette cushions and most foam has been replaced, Cushions fold to make a large bed
New ?city? water hook up with hose that is made to drink out of not garden hose like most ?restorations?
New Dinette table including new leg and mounts
New counter top
New formica on table that matches the new formica on countertop
New cabinet hardware
New window screens
Avocado green stove that matches ice box and works great
New flooring linoleum
New wood floor
New 12 volt wiring with modern ?flat four? plug for the towing lights that work great,
New taillights including housings
New 110-volt interior lights (four of them)
New breaker box 15 amp circuit works great
New ?Romax? wiring to everything 110V electrical
Each light has a plug built in to them
Refurbished exterior plug (I couldn?t find a new one that was metal) that is set up for a standard style electrical cord
All propane accessories have been replaced and leak tested including:
New propane tanks that are full with modern style fill (go anywhere to refill or exchange them
New propane hoses
Original Open Road brand propane stove oven combo that has been cleaned and tested to work great
The body is in nice shape and includes:
Original style Door handle and ?dead bolt? both have keys and are stainless steel.
About half the glass has been replaced and what wasn?t replaced was polished and works and looks new
New vinyl pop top that was custom sewn by a shop here in So. Cal New reflectors both yellow and red
New gloss white enamel paint with ?sail? blue stripe
New Tires (less then 300 miles)
New Hub caps that are chrome and look great
Sand blasted steel rims (13?) completely primed and painted Cleaned and repacked wheel bearings
Completely resealed with RV ?putty tape?
Rebuilt leveling/lifting jack (disassembled, cleaned, rebuilt, greased and painted) works like it is new
Now the bad (and there isn?t much):
I don?t think there is any bad on this trailer other then the diamond pattern that is on the interior walls is original to the trailer and has some minor discoloration
Also the trailer has some stress cracks in the fiberglass, which occur with aged fiberglass they are superficial and are only in a few spots (from about 3 feet away you wont even notice them), I repaired most of them but I didn?t get them all.
this is trailer is a steal! You will not find another one that has been 100% restored, the trailer is ready to go out and be camped in, and it is in extremely nice condition for a good price. Please don?t try to steal this trailer from me it says ?or best offer? which means I can work on the price, it doesn?t mean I am going to give it away. A deposit is non refundable, this isn?t a new trailer so don?t expect a new trailer, but this trailer is about as close as you can come to new in a vintage camper (it even smells new), but that means also there are some imperfections that occur with age. I am not trying to lie about its shape nor am I trying to deceive anyone I spent an incredible amount of time and money restoring this little trailer. I am not trying to hide anything if you would like to know anything else please give me a call
DO NOT EMAIL OR TEXT ME. Interested people are not afraid to talk to the owner
$5999.00 OBO (which means make me an offer)
